Living in rural Alabama, we have difficulty getting out and riding right from the front door. For us, 99% of the time, we have to load up the bikes and take them somewhere to ride safely. Many people have this issue and it can be a challenge to stay motivated to get out and ride.
On this particular day, there was a good chance of rain in Auburn, our closest riding location. Emerging from the cold winter months and tired of being cooped up inside the house, we decided to load our newest bikes up and take our chances.

It was a great idea, until it wasn’t. The rain did hit about halfway into our ride and it was heavy enough (and chilly, too) that we called the ride and Scott rode back to our starting point to get the truck while Edgar and I stayed dry in a pavilion near the stadium. We stayed tucked into the bricked corner of the structure to help block the chilly wind. It wasn’t freezing, but just unpleasant.

On his way back to get the truck, Scott snapped the following photos. Although the ride was only a partial success, it was refreshing to get out and ride, and to know that spring riding was just around the corner.
