Somewhere between the Outer Banks, NC and our campground in Chocowinity we were able to pick up one of the best vehicles we have ever owned.

We were in desperate need of a vehicle for quick trips into town, etc. and found a Ford F150, standard transmission, from the 1980’s on Craigslist (I think). They were asking $4000 or so and we offered the lady $2500 when we went to look at it. Her husband was not home at the time and she accepted our offer. When we were driving away, her husband had just arrived home from work and was not happy with the sale. He finally agreed to the price, but I don’t think he was ever happy about it.

I had limited experience driving a stick at this time, but I got the truck out of there as quickly as I could, knowing we got a great deal. Scott followed me back to the campground on our Honda scooter and we were so happy with our new/old truck.

Sadly, we do not still have this truck today. It would be 26 years older, but man I wish we still had this one. It was a real keeper!
