This post comes after we have reduced our vehicle fleet to just the bus and a Ford F150 that we purchased in North Carolina. We decided to take a bit of a break from traveling to the cross country shows when our internet business was going well and gas prices were skyrocketing. Our break time was spent at a campground in Chocowinity, NC. We parked the bus here and lived for about 6 months.
The campground is on the Pamlico Sound where we had waterfront views every day, except for the times when the water was blown out of the sound. Then it was just a view of mud and tree stumps. LOL
With the RoadTrek gone and the truck in it’s place as our general driving around vehicle, we were shifting our interest from kayaking to outright boating. I grew up around boats and boating in the lakes in Texas and this boat, Hospitality Sweet, was in my family for years. After moving away, my parents kept this boat and while we were stationary at the campground, we offered to buy it from them.
Of course, being the family boat, we got a good deal and the boat was mine once again. Scott drove to Texas to pick it up and brought it back to Chocowinity to live with us.
She was such an awesome boat. She had a V8 inboard and my mother had kept her in pristine condition.
