Today, we added a new Tacoma to the family: a 2017 Blue Tacoma Limited, our first third-generation model. In order to get the blue one, we had to trade in our beloved Red Taco. While it will be missed, it’s staying close by with extended family. The new truck, which we’ve tentatively named ‘Blu Taco’ to keep the theme going, has about half the mileage and age of our old one. It should still be great for towing and hauling.
For a bit of background, the 2017 Tacoma Limited is part of Toyotaโs third generation of Tacomas, which introduced an updated design and improved features compared to earlier models. The Limited trim offers a more refined ride, with a more premium feature list like leather-trimmed (and heated) seats, an upgraded nav system, and keyless entry (this one I’m not so sure I’m all that thrilled about yet). Although ours is the 2WD version, it still offers plenty of capability for daily driving and light towing. The engine is a 3.5-liter V6 engine with 278 horsepower, it delivers a good balance between power and fuel efficiency. We’re excited to see how it performs over the coming years!
