This is my Trek Allant+ 8S, and it’s become one of my favorite ways to get around the trails, and it was my first ever electric bike. It’s an electric bike that is generally built for speed and comfort—perfect for everything from quick trips into town to longer weekend rides, but by design it is a commuter bike. It has a Bosch Performance Speed motor, which means it can cruise up to 28 mph with pedal assist, which makes hills feel a lot less like work and a lot more like fun.
The battery is built right into the frame and lasts long enough to get me wherever I need to go without worrying about charging all the time. It’s got built-in lights, fenders to keep the mess off, and a rear rack that’s perfect for hauling gear or groceries.
Whether I’m in the gravel, dirt, exploring a new trail, or just riding for the fun of it, this bike makes it easy—and way more enjoyable. If you’ve never tried an e-bike, you’re missing out. My bike in particular had several issues I “changed” and I will post about those, but in the images you will see many custom upgrades made over the first 6 months or so.
