1978 Morgan Out Island 33

Scott and Deborah on LAUGHALOT Circle

Our second sailboat, LAUGHALOT, was a 33-foot Morgan Out Island. She was a roomy boat with great potential. Purchased in Tampa, Florida, we had her sailed across the Gulf of Mexico to her new home port at Bear Point Marina in Orange Beach, Alabama. Once she arrived, we discovered that, although the boat was in fantastic seaworthy shape, the motor was not. While deciding whether to haul her out for repairs, or clean her up and sell her, we spent many happy weekends on her as a getaway second home in her slip. At the time Orange Beach and the Gulf Coast was not as busy as it is today so life at the marina was peaceful and relaxing, especially in the winter months. We were very new to sailboats but enjoyed every single minute we spent on LAUGHALOT.

Ultimately, we sold her to a family in Texas who managed to navigate her through the Gulf Coast Intracoastal Waterway (GCICW) to her new home in Galveston, Texas. She was a great boat and we hope she is still providing excellent adventures for her current owners.
